December 7,2006 Theatrical Release of “ Komadori Eiga Komaneko” (stop motion animation feature Komaneko)

The film “Komadori Eiga Komaneko” funded by EF is released at CINEMA RISE on December 9, 2006. Also at WARNER MYCAL CINEMAS, and other theatres nationwide from the end of December. Original story, character design, and directed by Tsuneo Goda, animated by Hirokazu Minegishi, ending theme song by Solita.

Theatrical Release of “Sakebi/Retribution”on February 24, 2007

“Retribution”, the film funded by EF, will be released nationwide including Cine Saison Shibuya and Shinjuku Musashino-kan on February 24,2007.The film is written, and directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa, produced by Taka Ichise, and starring Koji Yakusho, Manami Konishi, Tsuyoshi Ihara, Joe Odagiri, Ryo Kase, and Riona Hazuki.

Principal photography of “A Thousand Years of Good Prayers”, financed by EF, is now completed.The film is directed by Wayne Wang, written by Yiyun Li, produced by Wayne Wang, Yukie Kito, and Rich Cowan, and stars Faye Yu, Henry O, Pasha Lychnikoff, and Vida Ghahremani.

Official screening of “Sakebi/Retribution” at Venice International Film Festival

“Sakebi/Retribution” directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa, the film partially funded by EF, was officially screened out of competition on September 4 2006 at the 63rd Venice International Film Festival.
   
August 9, 2006 "The Hottest State" was selected for Horizons section at the Venice International Film Festival.

"The Hottest State" funded by EF, was selected for Horizons section at the 63rd Venice International Film Festival.
The film, produced by Barracuda Films, is scheduled to be released in the U.S. in March 9, 2007.

Principal Photography started for "The Hottest State" funded by EF.
It is produced by Barracuda Films is scheduled for release in the U.S in 2007.
The film based on the novel "The Hottest State" by Ethan Hawke is directed and written by Hawke. It is executive produced by EF's CEO Yasushi Kotani and Taizo Son, and produced by EF's Managing Director Yukie Kito and Alexis Alexanian. Music is by Jesse Harris with songs by Norah Jones, Willie Nelson, and it stars Mark Webber, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Michelle Williams,
Josh Zuckerman, Ethan Hawke, Sonia Braga and Laura Linney.
