Nov. 19, 2005 Theatrical Release of “Chikan Otoko”

“Chikan Otoko”, a film partially funded by EF, was released at Shibuya Cine la sept. The film is directed by Koutarou Terauchi, written by Haruko Nagatsu and Koutarou Terauchi, and stars Koutarou Yanagi, Nao Nagasawa, Yu Hasebe and Sayaka Isoyama.

   
Nov. 19, 2005 Theatrical Release of “inferno”

“Inferno”, a film partially funded by EF, was released on 60 screens across Japan, including Shinjuku Oscar and Ikebukuro Cinemasunshine. The film, based on the “Seimei no Ki” comic book by Daijiro Morohoshi, was directed and written by Takashi Komatsu, and produced by Taka Ichise with music by Kenji Kawai. It stars Ema Fujisawa, Hiroshi Abe, Chisun, Yurei Yanagi, Hiroshi Kanbe, Daikichi Sugawara, Yoshio Tsuchiya, Masami Horiuchi, Minoru Shiraki, Teisui Ichiryusai, Reiko Kusamura, Kouji Shimizu.

   
Oct. 14, 2005 Theatrical Release of “Nine Lives"in the U.S.

“Nine Lives” which Japanese distribution right partially funded by EF,

Aug. 13, 2005 "Nine Lives" wins the Golden Leopard for film and actress at the Locarno Film Festival.

"Nine Lives", directed by Rodrigo Garcia ("Things You Can Tell Just by Looking at Her") and which Japanese distribution rights partially funded by EF, won the Golden Leopard for best film and the Leopard for best actress, which was collectively awarded to the film’s 9 actresses, at the 58th Locarno International Film Festival. “Nine Lives” is scheduled for release in 2006 in Japan.

   
Jun. 28, 2005 Production of "Reincarnation" Completes

The production of "Reincarnation", the third film in the J-Horror Theater series partially funded by EF, has been completed. The film is scheduled for release in Japan by Toho on January 7, 2006

   
Jun. 8, 2005 Production of "The Namesake" Completes

The production of "The Namesake", directed by Mira Nair ("Kama Sutra", "Monsoon Wedding") and partially funded by EF, has been completed in India. The film is scheduled for release in the U.S. by 20th Century Fox in March 2007.

   
Apr. 23, 2005 Principal Photography Starts for "Reincarnation"

Principal photography started for "Reincarnation" directed by Takashi Shimizu. The film is produced by Taka Ichise and co-written by Takashi Shimizu and Masaki Adachi. Music is by Kenji Kawai and it stars Yuka, Karina and Kippei Shiina. It is the third film of the J-Horror Theater series partially funded by EF and will be released by Toho on January 7, 2006.

"The Grudge" was released on 238 screens of the Shochiku/ Tokyu theater-chain across Japan, including the Shibuya Tokyu cinema.

   
Feb. 2, 2005 "The Grudge" premieres in Japan

The Japanese premiere of "The Grudge" was held at the Nakano Sunplaza with stage greetings by director Takashi Shimizu, leading actress Sarah Michelle Gellar, Yoko Maki, Ryo Ishibashi, and producer Taka Ichise.

   
Feb. 1, 2005 "The Grudge" Press Conference

A press conference for "The Grudge" partly presented by EF was held at the Park Hyatt Tokyo with leading actress Sarah Michelle Gellar, director Takashi Shimizu, and producer Taka Ichise in attendance. "The Grudge" opens February 11th at the Shibuya Tokyu and theaters on Shochiku / Tokyu theater-chain across Japan.
